Welcome to the 2009 Tennisfax Classic at The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio!

Lost & Found

Everyone did really well this week. The only thing we found was a bundle of items rolled up in a towel. If you can describe the items inside the bundle, we'll mail them to you. Please reply to alan@tennisfax.com.

Tournament History

The Tennisfax Classic was started in 1991 in Columbus, Ohio as part of the Central Ohio Grand Prix (COGP) summer tennis circuit. The tournament offers divisions for juniors and adults. Since 1992, the tournament has been sanctioned by the United States Tennis Association (USTA).

This year, we are pleased to announce that the junior tournament has been classified as a Midwest Level 5 event.

Entries will be accepted via the USTA's Tennislink system. The COGP member entry discount does not apply for players using Tennislink.

Tentative Tournament Schedule

This tournament starts on Saturday, June 20 and is scheduled to end Wednesday, June 24. PLEASE NOTE: We will play a majority of the matches in this tournament on Saturday, Sunday and Monday, June 20, 21 and 22. Tuesday and Wednesday will be used as necessary for large junior draws and rain delays affecting juniors. Adult divisions will finish by Monday evening. Following is the tentative schedule:

Saturday and Sunday

  • Adult and Junior matches will be scheduled from 8:00am through 9:30pm.

Monday

  • Junior matches will be scheduled from 10:00am through 9:30pm.
  • Adult matches will be scheduled from 5:30pm through 9:30pm.

Tuesday and Wednesday

  • Junior matches (as necessary) will be scheduled from 10:00am through 5:00pm.

This is a tentative schedule only. The tournament committee reserves the right to change the schedule at its discretion.

COGP players please note, there will be no scheduling requests taken for this tournament. Players must be able to play when scheduled during the times posted above.

Rain Policy

Rain this time of year is usually a short shower or storm. We will make every attempt to roll-dri courts and continue play as soon as possible. If faced with extended periods of rain, we have access to an indoor facility and matches will be moved inside only if absolutely necessary. However, this is an outdoor tournament and we play outdoors whenever possible.

On-Site Stringing

There will be a stringer available at the site during the tournament. On site stringers are not affiliated with the tournament and any transactions made are strictly between the players and the stringer. Cash payments are preferred.
