Katherine Porter, unseeded in the girls' 16 singles division, came through to win the title and earn the Junior Player of the Week award.

Porter also captured the title without dropping a set. She defeated Brittany Raymond 6-2 6-3 in the quarters, #2 seed Lauren Capano 6-0 6-0 in the semis and Gretchen Hackmann 6-2 6-3 in the final.

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- The top seeds in the men's and women's singles draws both came through without dropping a set to win titles at the 2001 Tennisfax Classic.

In the men's division, Lee Hays of Westerville stopped Jerome Moenter of Lima 7-5 6-3 to win his first Tennisfax title. Kathy Kinnard captured her sixth Tennisfax women's singles title by beating Lisa Reisz 6-2 6-2.

Jim D'Innocenzo and Jeff Pannell played the match of the tournament in the men's 35 singles event. The top seeded D'Innocenzo outlasted unseeded Pannell, 7-6 (7) 3-6 7-6 (1) in a match that lasted over three hours.

John Ballentine upset #1 seed Dave Goins in the men's 45 singles to win his first ever USTA title. Ballentine also won last week at Gahanna.

Outstanding juniors at the Tennisfax Classic include #2 Evan Carr over #1 Ryan Dodd 6-4 6-2 in the boys' 14 singles final and #3 Katherine Porter over Gretchen Hackmann 6-2 6-3 in the girls' 16 singles.
