MANIFOLD

For
winning two titles at the 2004 Tennisfax Classic, Wayne
Manifold was selected as the Adult Player of the Week.
In
men's 45 singles, #2 seed Manifold beat Dave Brenning 7-6
(4) 6-4 in the semis and #1 seed Bob Boldman 7-5 6-3 in
the final. He then teamed with Mark Liefled to get by David
& Brian Pollock by default in the semis and then beat
#2 seeds Dave Goins & Randy Stewart 6-2 6-0 in the final.
Manifold
returned to the Tennisfax/COGP men's 45 singles rankings
at #10. He also returned to the men's 45 doubles rankings
at #7.

Val
Micek was another unseeded player on the 2004 COGP summer
tour to win a championship. In the girls' 16 singles draw
at the Tennisfax Classic, Micek won the title by defeating
Allison Elia 6-0 6-0 in the quarterfinals, #2 seed Jessica
Easdale 6-2 2-6 6-3 in the semis and Christina Danosi 1-6
6-2 6-2 in the final.
With
this victory, Micek entered the Tennisfax/COGP girls' 16
singles rankings at #7 and she was named the Junior Player
of the Week.
